It is a brand new year, and we couldn’t be more excited. The last few years have been particularly rough for The Experience Points Network. Southern Louisiana flooded in March and August 2016 (MG’s house flooded in August). RedBear got an awesome new job, but unfortunately had to depart The Experience Points Radio Show (replaced by Dustin!). Life in-general got busier!
But. That. Was. Then.
Ringing in a new year is always great for video games. You can see the best and worst of the previous year, and can look forward to the best of the upcoming one. I’ve never particularly been one for New Year Resolutions; partly because they seem to be made to fail, but mostly because I’m an adult and I can make resolutions anytime! #ADULT! Resolution or not, things are changing for Experience Points.
RedBear and I can’t go into all of the details now, but we have several ideas that we hope will make Experience Points (and attached content) something that listeners will share with their friends, post on social media, and save to their smartphones! However, if we are to make changes, we need your help and feedback.
Please, help us make something cool into something awesome! In the coming weeks we will be updating the website and radio show format. Likewise, we will be posting more podcast and minicast content. Soon, we hope to add weekly reviews of video games and hardware… Your comments and criticisms will be key in shaping Experience Points into the best it can be.
Thank you for being there for us, we will do our best for you!
After posting some links to our Social Media pages, and having bots scoop them up super fast, we decided to regroup and come up with a better way to give away games. What we came up with is a giant list, and an extended give away window. Read more →
Woohoo! Thanks to the awesome team over at Arvixe, the Experience Points website has successfully migrated from ASP hosting to PHP hosting! This should result in faster page load times, and less downtime! Check out Arvixe for awesome hosting accounts for even the tightest of budgets!
Recently, you may have noticed new ads on the side-bar. These were nested in the Miscellaneous > Affiliates page, and even then, they weren’t very nice to look at. Well, now we have them displayed on every page! That’s better, right? We get it; no one likes advertisements. And, while we would hope that our content and giveaways would compel you to donate via the handy-dandy PayPal ‘Donate’ button, realistically, we can’t expect you to just shower us with money, especially without getting something in return!
By following the links on the sidebar you can test out a Usenet account, or get a free audio book, all while helping fund Experience Points! Every trial membership or subscription nets the Experience Points platform a few bucks, and that’s alright with us! To clarify, the two Usenet links are different; one links to a free trial, and the other links to a supreme monthly/yearly discount. Our recommendation is try out the service, then use the other link to get the better deal! Enjoy!
Longtime listeners will remember that The Experience Points Radio Show used to be a majority music show. MG would pop in between song blocks to update listeners on the latest releases and spin some trivia regarding the recently played bands, but that was it. At the end of Season 2, August 2012, the show took a break for a few months. During this hiatus, TEPRS changed it’s format to a talk show and gained a second host, Will North. Though Will North only stayed for a single season he was helpful in steering TEPRS to where it is now.
When ExpPoints.com was created only shows airing after it’s creation were uploaded. Recently, MG has been sifting through the archive finding all of the Season 3 shows. Soon, all of Season 3 will be uploaded and made available for streaming and downloading.
If supplying the gaming community with a plethora of dedicated servers is the big time, well, we just hit it! Read more →
